The start of September always feels a bit like the New Year. Kids go back to school, we all come back inside, and everyone returns to the office after their vacations.
It’s a great time to reset and refocus on our goals after a busy summer. A final push to end the year strong before the holiday rush sets in.
I’ve talked to a few people in the last week who said they’re now ready to focus their time and attention on landing a board seat now that summer is behind us.
And I’ve met with many executive job seekers who’ve said the same thing. They are now ready to get serious about landing a new job.
What about you? What do you need to refocus on now that Fall is here? Let’s map it out together.
1. What big goal do you need to dust off now to finish the year strong?
Action: Write it down on a Post-it and stick it to your laptop or monitor now.
2. What is one small action step that will help you get there?
Action: Put that action in your calendar right now. Not someday, now.
Big goals aren’t met because we think about them or spend months in the planning phase.
They become reality when we take the next concrete step, even a small one. Because action builds momentum.
If you want a thought partner for that next step, I’d love to help.

Here’s to finishing this year strong! Whatever your career goals are, we’re here to support you.
